Cheney Stadium Sustainable Storm Water Project: Breaking Ground

On Labor Day, I had the honor of breaking ground on the Cheney Stadium Sustainable Storm Water Project. The result of this project will collect 95% of the polluted rainwater from the Cheney Stadium parking lots and filter it naturally, protect the waters draining into the Puget Sound, plant 250 trees around the stadium and improve the pedestrian access into the stadium. We will put people back to work, make the stadium more beautiful, functional and more convenient for all in time for next year’s Tacoma Rainiers Season!
